On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), 2021 HBA President Bill Wannstedt of Consort Homes (left) presented a $15,000 donation to Fisher House in St. Louis manager Vanniecia Brown, board president John Doheny and board director James Donahoe.
The donation will be used to replace the kitchen cabinets at the St. Louis Fisher House, a 20-bedroom home-away-from-home for families of veterans receiving care at the St. Louis VA Medical Center and families of active-duty personnel who have loved ones in other area facilities. Since opening in September 2010, the Fisher House in St. Louis has hosted more than 11,000 guests, saving them an estimated $10+ million in food and lodging costs.
The HBA is a local trade association of more than 600 member firms representing the residential construction industry. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation, the HBA’s charitable arm, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing assistance to people or organizations with special shelter needs.
